By what mechanism (or mechanisms) can a social identity become classified as a cultural identity? I argue that a social identity, a relatively small classification of identity in a social context, can become a cultural identity if said social identity is first influenced by a unique "culture" that matches it. An example would be Gamer Identity and Gamer Culture. Gamer identity is a social identity, but there is literature identifying gamer culture as a unique culture. Thus, gamer identity (when influenced by the culture and some mechanism) should become a cultural identity.

I am currently working on replicating and extending my masters thesis work! I am conducting an expansion focused on investigating the splitting structure of the private self-cognitive basket. I am also replicating my thesis work's major study 2 in replicating the findings that the collective basket of the self splits into the "who I am" and "what I do" sub-baskets.
